SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 17, 2012 —Patexia.com, the online destination where science, technology and business meet, announced the launch of its first-ever contest today. Patexia is inviting individuals with an interest in public health, technology, business or policy to participate in a contest about innovations to control health care spending. Participants are asked to submit a new or existing idea that reduces health care costs. The idea could be a scientific/technological innovation or a policy/business/financing model.
The company is offering two $1,000 prizes to participants. Patexia judges will select one recipient while the other recipient will be chosen by popular vote. The contest opens on May 21, 2012 and runs for four weeks, at which point Patexia members can review the submissions and vote for their favorite entries. The one week voting period ends on June 24, 2012 and the winners will be announced on June 25, 2012. All entries are subject to Patexia’s contest legal terms.
“We are hoping this contest will introduce the Patexia community to a new group of researchers and professionals, encouraging them to join and engage in our network,” said Pedram Sameni, Patexia founder and CEO. The contest invitation is going to top universities, research centers, hospitals and professional forums in the United States.
