Patexia Unveils 2023 Trademark Intelligence Report and Rankings

The comprehensive study offers rankings, statistics, and insights into trademark prosecution, covering applicants, law firms, and attorneys.
In 2022, U.S. trademark applications declined, marking the first decrease in over a decade. The report attributes this drop to a reduction in both Chinese-originating and domestic filings. Despite the high volume of data points involved, Patexia has refined its data accuracy and comprehensiveness by conducting thorough cleaning and manual review processes.
The report spans a five-year period from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022, and evaluates 2,939,200 trademark applications, 206,722 U.S. and foreign applicants, 26,274 firms, and 32,904 attorneys. Unique datasets included in the report provide valuable insights into trademark revenues, spending, client-law firm relationships, and top lateral moves.

- Top lateral moves since the last report
